Pulse nightclub shooting, lessons revealed in tragedy

Every month we hear horrific stories related to Active Shooter, mass casualty events. This past Sunday we woke to up yet another report of a senseless act of mass violence. Orlando’s Pulse Nightclub, is now the new case study for mass shootings in the United States. More than 100 young Americans were gunned down, resulting in 50 people killed and 53 injured.

I was talking with a police friend of mine, who, as am I is a bit of a gear junkie. I spent an amount of time I don’t even want to think about researching what gear is out there. I check it all out; the new and improved gadgets, the cool thing that has 3,000 light settings that I’ll never use, and gizmos that are way over my pay grade. But over the years, I’ve learned though different training classes, experience, and my pocketbook to abide by the K.I.S.S. method.
