This intermediate course will focus on both the physiology as well as the mechanics of operating a handgun under adverse light conditions. A paramount skill given estimates as high as 75% of potentially lethal law enforcement engagements occurring in less than ideal lighting conditions. Training will begin in the classroom with a thorough overview of how human vision works under adverse light as well as the fundamental mechanics of handgun manipulation when illumination devices are mandatory. Students will then transition to the range for the practical application of those skills demonstrated and articulated in the class room. Ultimately, this class will provide the student with those rudimentary skill necessary to shoot accurately when it is necessary to manipulate both a firearms and an illumination device. It will also prepare the student to transition seamlessly into Low Light Handgun Manipulations 2.
